It was a good run boys. *sniff*

Seattle!

Seattle is a wonderful city--we had a great trip!

The kids and I visited the aquarium and saw otters, seals, all types of ocean fish, including some jellyfish.

We also dined at night in the rotating Space Needle restaurant. The view of the setting sun, then the city lights, was absolutely spectacular!

We were lucky enough to spend time at the Pacific Science Center. This was one awesome place! Every booth was hands-on so that kids could interact with each display, such as learning about robotic machines that move die cut tools--they turned it into a giant game of tic-tac-toe that the kids could operate--to better get their attention.

The science center also had a neat tropical butterfly room you could walk through--like paradise. The kids went on a simulated rollercoaster ride. And, Jamie and I had fun in the shadow room--you stand against a wall in any funny position, the light flashes, and your shadow is captured on the wall (we didn't jump like the kid in the pic).

Finally, we went to Snoqualmie summit (Cascade mountains) and went tubing in the snow. It's like sledding, only on steeper and faster hills. The kids had a blast!!!

Also, I got to meet Aura on this trip. She's a delightful gal and we had fun eating pizza and hot-tubbing.

Pass the salt, please...

Sons wonderful 3rd grade teacher does an amazing thing each year with her students. She teaches them etiquette at the dinner table.

For weeks, they practice eating real meals at a table set with china and crystal, while dressed in their best. They unfold their napkins into their laps, say, "Please pass the salt," use the correct fork for their salads, etc... Then, around Mother's Day, the moms or grandmas are all invited to the meal where they can witness their child's resplendent dress and flawless manners.

I've volunteered each week to make the main entree and assist with table setup and cleanup afterward (if I win the lotto, I'm buying that school a dishwasher). Today, I'm taking 2 lasagnas and a crockpot of homemade mac & cheese.

Son awoke this a.m. sooo excited! He's dress in a button down shirt and slacks, and husband loaned him a tie. Yep. I teared up. There he is, my baby, dressed like a little man right down to a windsor knot. *sniff* I got weepy when daughter did this 2 years ago too, sentimental sap that I am.

Dream Alert!

I can't begin to compete with Honey's extraordinary dreams, but I had a few weird ones of my own.

First, I drove a vehicle filled with friends and proceeded to tear up a farmer's land. I don't know why I did it, but we all lived a hotel together, and he came over, stating that he had a tire track to match up to our tires--whoever did it would be caught. I smiled at him, saying "Good. I'm glad you'll find that horrible person." Inside, I calculated how to make my escape before he discovered I was the culprit.

Suddenly, I was in a room with Sam's husband, who looked like a 15-year old Bill Gates (nothing like the pictures I've seen of Mr. Sam). I complained about my husband to him, and he gave me marital advice.

After giving it some thought, I think that the first dream is related to a picture I showed my kids the other night. It's an aerial shot of my grandparents farm, on which my childhood home was built. I showed them the barns, the crop fields, and talked about what it was like growing up there. After my grandmother died, the land was sold and has been developed--looks like a subdivision. I felt depressed about that.

The second dream probably comes from the fact that Sam and Mr. Sam might go on a cruise, something I've begged dh to do, but he has zero interest. LOL.

I also dreamt that my MIL's house came apart between each room, so we had to jump over empty space from floor to floor. I screamed at the family to quickly grab the things most important to my MIL--sentimental stuff, as the house would fall completely soon. Dh says this is because her health is failing and it probably won't be long before she has to come live with us.

Anyway, not the cheeriest of dreams. First, I'm a criminal. Then, I'm an unsatisfied wife. Next, my MIL's world's coming apart at the seams--literally. Our subconscious is so amazing.

There's Our Boy!

Well, I didn't actually carry him in my womb or anything, but Adam Morrison plays for our little home town college, so in a way... LOL. Truth is, I saw him around the campus quite a bit last year, but never actually talked to him.

He's taken on rock star status though around the nation, as evidenced when his bloody kleenex--that was stuffed up his nose at the Pepperdine game--went up for auction on Ebay. Can anyone say GROSS? Gonzaga bought it just to get it off there. Nobody here--especially Morrison--wants THAT kind of publicity. Eww...

Anyway, if you want to learn more about him and his race for the nation's top player with Redick (the two happen to be friends, btw), grab this week's SI.

We play WCC tournament games today and tomorrow. Then we move on to the NCAA playoffs, but that whole schedule confuses me into a coma.

Was World Domination, Now World Building

Since my Blog Quiz about World Domination utterly failed (unless you have a Live Journal ID, which I don't yet), I'll approach this from a different angle.

If you could build a world, or dominate an existing world and recreate it to your liking, what would it ideally look like?
