If I Were a Man . . .

The other night dh and I saw Matthew McConahahahahay (you know--the sexiest man alive) in a movie with Jennifer Lopez, which started a conversation along these lines--

Me: It's the dimples. I really like the dimples. What do you think of Jennifer Lopez? You and every man seems to love her and Angelina.

Him: Jennifer Lopez is okay. But, I really don't like Angelina Jolie--she's strange. You know who I really like--you pointed her out the other day. Said you thought she was hot.

Me: Huh? Oh, I know who you mean. No, what I said was "If I were a man, I'd think she was hot. She's stunning" (we referred to Catherine Zeta Jones). And, I added, Penelope Cruz is gorgeous too. If I were a guy, I'd like her. (This stems from being fair-haired as a child and hair-envying my brunette Dawn doll). Oh, and I'd like Gwyneth Pultrow and Jennifer Aniston -- the girls next door-- too. And, if I were a guy, I'd just LOVE Ashley Judd, 'cuz she's a great actress, intelligent, and darned cute.

Me again, not expecting an answer: If you were a woman, which man would you like?

Him: Okay. I'll play. (He turns red and kind of kicks the floor with the toe of his shoe. Clearly men aren't as comfortable with role reversal). I guess I'd like George Clooney. Probably Mel Gibson. Maybe that Bond guy who used to be Remington Steele (Pierce Brosnan). And probably Sean Connery.

(This is cool--I like those guys too).

Me: What about Hugh Jackman. Wouldn't you like Hugh?

Him: Who?

Me: Hugh. (no, this is not a Dr. Seuss book and dh has no idea who Hugh is).

Me: What about Jeremy Northum? Colin Firth? The non-Hollywood guys?

Him: Who? (okay--I'm satisfied with George, Pierce, Mel and Sean).

Just for fun, who would your dh, boyfriend, male co-worker, like if he were a woman?
Which babe would you find "hot" if you were a man? *Grin*

LOL, great post, Ellen! I'll have to ask my husband, but I get a feeling he'll just look at me funny and mumble something about me being strange.

I love Catherine Zeta Jones, too! And the Oriental actress(the older one) from Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. I think she's beautiful. Mmmm...does this make me weird? Maybe my husband is right:))

Clive Owen? I think that's who you mean, Winnie. Yes...handsome. He's in that new thriller with Jennifer Aniston (on my "babe list" LOL!).

Maria, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon--I've seen that at the video rental store, and it looked so good, but I'm squeamish about too much violence (of course I watched King Arthur & it's bloody battles--no problem). Is it a pretty good movie? If you recommend it, I'll rent it (since you're a P & P fan too--we must have similar tastes). And, I hope it doesn't make us weird to say a woman is beautiful...just brave. :)

    Great one, Ellen!

I had to run in and wake up Dawg (ok, he really wasn't sleeping but..... ) and asked. His answers:
    1. Angelina Jolie
me: But your a girl now.
    Dawg: I know.
    2. Harrison Ford
    3. Sean Connery
    Silly Dawg....

Charlize Theron, Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman were what I could think up before coffee.

Maria, are you thinking of Michelle Yeoh?

    Thanks for the giggles, E.

    K- yes! It's Michele Yeoh. I think she's gorgeous.

Ellen, Personally I love Crouching Tiger, Hidden Tiger. I cry everytime I see the movie. It's violent, yes, but because it has martial arts, but it's not gory violent like King Arthur (love clive owen, btw!!! He used to be my RWA Online avatar) CTHD has 2 beautiful parallel love stores in it (one between the "older" couple and one between the younger couple) Both are wonderfully told. The film has a couple of choppy scenes in it and and it's in Chinese, so you have to follow with subtitles, but its a wonderful story of love and loyalty and doing the "right" thing vs following your heart. It's got lots of great action and the best part is the kick-butt heroines!

Ok, I will definitely rent CTHD! Thanks, Maria. :)

K, so Dawg is one of the many Angelina fans? See, most of them like her. And, I like Dawg's guy picks. I forgot about Charlize Theron, Sandra and Nicole! They're also beautiful--each in a very different way.

Winnie, Kate Beckinsale is awesome too! I haven't seen Jennifer Gardner in anything (except tabloid pics with Ben).

Nice picks, ladies. :) You have good taste. LOL!

    Okay, Mark says:

    Pierce Brosnon
    Johnny Depp
Henry Simmons (played Baldwin on NYPD Blue. He's pretty hot)

    My chick picks are:

Angelina Jolie (hands down, the sexiest chick alive, even if she is weird)
    Beyonce
    Gwen Stefani

And I have to say, my husband and I apparently have the same taste in men...which is kinda scary.

I forgot! Dh also likes Johnny Depp. Freaky, Mel--2 of their choices in men are the same. I asked him why none of the men are picking Tom Cruise or Brad Pitt. He just snorted. Okey dokey. LOL.

I had to look up Beyonce and Gwen Stefani--beautiful ladies. Also had to look up Henry Simmons--very, very nice! Woohoo! :)

E.....had to ask Dawg about his early morning comments.

Of course, I got the Dawg look. Only if I was a woman would I look at AJ. Yeah, she's nice looking but does nothing for me as a man.

And I knew he wouldn't go for Depp or Cruise.

Now I need to go out and get CTHD and see it.

So many movies, so little time.

W, I couldn't remember who Peyton Manning was, so looked him up--ok, good choice! All 3. *thumbs up*
