If you could pick ONE
act of daring, what would it be? I've already floated in a hot air balloon. I think I'd like to try parasailing next. I know this is a fairly mild event, but for me, it's huge.
Recently, a friend said they would skydive. I don't think I'd have the courage, but looking at this video tempts me...awesome!

Amazing! They looked like dandelion fluff when they flew apart. Very cool!
If I could pick one daring act to do before I'm too old and decrepit, I'd hang glide. I've always wanted to. Who knows? Maybe someday I will. :)

I love that video - my husband had shown it to me. I've tried hot air ballooning and liked it, but sky diving's a little out of my league. Same for parasailing after seeing Jurassic Park 3. :) One daring act? Doing a workshop at Nat'ls. The thought of getting up in front of other writers and pretending I know what I'm talking about scares the bejesus out of me!

Viv, you have a poet's soul - it IS like dandelion fluff!
Kim, the stage fright of doing a workshop would kill me. I think I'd rather jump out of a plane and hope the parachute opens. LOL. If you ever give one, let me know though - I'll be sure to attend. :)

It's funny, more people are afraid of public speaking than are afraid of death.
Anyway, I read this earlier and the things that came to me were mountain climbing and scuba diving. Don't know if those qualify as daring acts but that's what immediately came to mind when I read the question.

Daring acts? Not jumping out of a perfectly good airplane. ;)
What would I do. Hmm, probably go to a driving school and learn to drive fast, fast and safe on a track.
You'll find me in the back of the room, behind the potted plants now. ;)

L, mountain climbing sounds scary too. But unlike skydiving, you have that cable attached to you - right? Scuba diving would be fun. :)
K, Q of C, LOL, car racing is something I would do!

I'm a big wimp! I have no idea. Maybe snorkeling, LOL!
Hope to see you in SF next year! I promise, I'll only make you get a little tattoo...

Hmm... I'd say bongie (sp?) jumping. Yep, that'd be the one.

Lillian, I thought of snorkeling too, but I think I would panic worrying about not getting enough air. LOL. Maybe I should start shopping for little tattoes now. *snort*
Ooh, Tempest! You're BRAVE! Of all the daring things, that one would scare me the most, I think.

I will highly recommend the scuba diving option! I have had so much fun diving, and hope to continue to expand my experiences. You get to see a whole new world. For example, and Ellen I think you've seen this, check out the video of the US flag I saw at 90ft underwater!

No skydiving for me! I'm terrified of heights. In fact, just getting on the down escalator is enough to make my breath hitch. I know, I'm a wimp...

Shannon, that flag is so cool. I saw something about that ship on TV. Maybe someday, I'll get brave enough to try scuba diving...
Maria, you're not wimpy at all. You're smart to be afraid. LOL.

It's not small stuff! I'm terrified of heights, so all those would be out for me!
