Seattle!

Seattle is a wonderful city--we had a great trip!

The kids and I visited the aquarium and saw otters, seals, all types of ocean fish, including some jellyfish.

We also dined at night in the rotating Space Needle restaurant. The view of the setting sun, then the city lights, was absolutely spectacular!

We were lucky enough to spend time at the Pacific Science Center. This was one awesome place! Every booth was hands-on so that kids could interact with each display, such as learning about robotic machines that move die cut tools--they turned it into a giant game of tic-tac-toe that the kids could operate--to better get their attention.

The science center also had a neat tropical butterfly room you could walk through--like paradise. The kids went on a simulated rollercoaster ride. And, Jamie and I had fun in the shadow room--you stand against a wall in any funny position, the light flashes, and your shadow is captured on the wall (we didn't jump like the kid in the pic).

Finally, we went to Snoqualmie summit (Cascade mountains) and went tubing in the snow. It's like sledding, only on steeper and faster hills. The kids had a blast!!!
I pulled this photo of strangers down from the internet. I took some digitals of our group, but need to have dh upload them to the computer.

Also, I got to meet Aura on this trip. She's a delightful gal and we had fun eating pizza and hot-tubbing.

All and all, a great trip! Do you have any trips planned? Or recent ones you've enjoyed?

Sweet! Sounds like a blast! I want to visit Seattle sometime. We met some great Australians on our cruise who currently live in Seattle, and we have an invite that we need to follow up on. Glad to hear how much fun you had, makes me want to go there soon.

I'm headed to Fort Walton Beach, Florida on Sunday for two weeks for business. Yeah, it's rough having to work near the beach for two weeks during Spring Break. =P Jamie's coming down the weekend in between, so we'll have a little vacation there. We used to live in the area, so we have a decent idea of what to do and all that, which is nice.

After that, no current trips planned, but I need to get out camping somewhere and/or travel somewhere in the state very soon to try and keep up with my goals for 2006. We'll have to see.

How about you, any more trips planned?

Sounds like a lot of fun, Ellen!

The whole family (well, sans oldest daughter who is in college and has to go to summer school) is going to Acapulco this June. We're flying out of Atlanta and spending the day before we leave at the new Georgia Aquirium, which is supposed to be the world's largest.

I hope we have as much fun on our vacation as your family did!

    Thanks, L!

Shannon--definitely take that Seattle trip. And have a terrific time in Ft. Walton Beach--even though it's business. Hopefully, when Jamie comes down, the two of you can live it up! :)

Aside from my RWA trip to Atlanta in July, we plan to visit Michigan (as a leg of that trip) so the kids can see their grandparents and cousins.

Maria--acapulco sounds SO nice! And warm! LOL. I tried to think of a way for the kids to meet me in Atlanta around the RWA conference so they could go to the aquarium that you mentioned. I've heard it's fantastic and they LOVE that stuff. Have fun in June! :)
