Genius At Work

Last night, I watched The Devil Wears Prada for the second time, and yep...I'd remembered correctly how absolutely brilliant Meryl Streep is in this movie.

I first saw her in The Deer Hunter, which is a good but disturbing movie that I hope to never watch again. She was in Kramer v. Kramer -- pretty good. Then Sophie's Choice, which is another extremely disturbing movie, but her acting is -- again -- so brilliant. That one, I would probably watch again just to see her work. Other movies include: Silkwood, Out of Africa, The Bridges of Madison County, and many more.

I think she'll go down in movie history as the Grand Dame -- the best actress of all time. And I figured she was worth a blog post. :)

I'm not talking "celebrities" here, but whom do you admire for their acting talent?

    I watched Devil twice this weekend. What a great role! She was so subtle and so on the nose!

    I'm a huge fan of Dame Judi and Helen Mirren. Also, another person I've enjoyed every performance from is Pierce Brosnan. He's amazing. (and I don't mean just his looks and accent)

    I loved that movie! And she just won a Golden Globe for it! :~)

    I think the first movie I ever saw her in was Kramer v. Kramer.

    Ooh, Mel, I love Dame Judi and Helen Mirren as well. Both awesome actresses. And Pierce Brosnan...he's a honey. You know, come to think of it, he was one of the guys dh picked for the "If I was a woman, I'd like..." LOL.

    Lucy, she won? Yay!!! Totally deserves it. :)

    One of the actors I admire most is Johnny Depp. Not for his looks (drool) but for his incredible range in taking on characters.

    I just watched that movie again, too! Love her character in that. I bet it was a lot of fun for the writer to write those scenes.

    As for actors I admire... Gerard Butler (and not just because he's completely gorgeous)... Christian Bale (and not just because I saw him naked in American Psycho *hubba hubba*) and I'm sure there are others but my mind just went back to the shower scene in AP... Now I'll be useless for the rest of the day.

    I love Johnny Depp. I think he's a totally underrated actor.

    Meryl Streep is the best of the best. Did you watch her on the Golden Globes?? Just as natural and normal as the lady behind you in the grocery store!!! Gotta love her. She will definately go down in history as one of the greatest!! Hugs, Your-Step-Mama

    I missed the Golden Globes but heard she won, as well as Hugh Laurie for House -- another of my faves. I guess I should watch more TV. LOL.
