Oops

Over at Deadline Divas today, Kait asked if we remembered to change our clocks for daylight savings time. The answer is a resounding NO.

Yesterday was my brother-in-law's big birthday dinner at a fancy restaurant in town. We were all looking forward to celebrating with him since we don't see that side of the family often enough. Anyway, we showed up in our fanciest finest to find them all eating already. We quickly figured out that we were not on time but an hour late because we'd forgotten about the time change. We felt like FOOLS.

What is the worst social blunder you've made like that?

Daylight savings?! *blinks* Already? *checks calendar* Is it daylight savings in April 1? Is it April already and I'm still in March?

I can't think of any social blunders but it sure has taken me awhile to adjust this year! I woke up this morning having absolutely no idea what time it was and if my clocks were set correctly. Fortunately my roommate popped in to tell me to get moving or I'd be late for work!

That's so embarrassing, but understandable, Ellen. Hope they weren't too upset. And hello... someone could have called you all, right?

Congress changed the date daylight savings now goes into effect. And the hop backwards is different too.

Argh, E. Maybe I should have called you Saturday and goosed the change the clock item. ;)

I can't recall a moment...my brain is swiss cheese over the time change. ;)

Uh oh, Tempest -- sounds like it got past you too. :)

A and K, perhaps I should get one of those self-changing clocks. I still haven't changed all of them in our house.

My DVR changed time but my computer didn't. I've changed it TWICE now and it went back to the old time both times. ARGH!

Ellen, we've all had embarrassing moments. I dated someone once who had a day planned for one of those "career days". He got his resume all ready. He got his suit cleaned and pressed. He showed up at the exact time he was supposed to. His one error was that it was a week too early.

I hope you still had a good visit with your family though.

They're family, they are supposed to forgive stuff like that, right? I hope you got to eat anyway!

Lucy and Kim, we did get to eat. I, er, actually ordered off the kids menu. LOL. I don't eat seafood, and the whole menu was seafood except for a couple of $30-$40 steaks and I wasn't in the mood for a large slab of meat (had my heart set on a salad or pasta but they were both seafood also). And I DID order a martini which put things in perspective. LOL.
