Action!

The film crew is here and the camera is rolling.

It didn't get off to the greatest of starts though. First of all, Todd arrived over the weekend, and the rest of the crew was supposed to come in Wed. afternoon/evening. Monday night, he informed us that they were coming a day early. We had to finish getting the house in order a day sooner, plus pack our clothes, etc.

Needless to say, I'm quite exhausted--physically sore and emotionally drained.

Then as we left for the hotel in dh's car (because Todd is using mine until he gets his 2 rentals), Scout, our faithful and sweet German Shepard, thought we were going on a trip to the Centennial Trail--dh's car is the "Trail" car that Scount gets to ride in. She tried to jump in, but we held her back. Going down the road, the kids look back and begin screaming. Scout has jumped the invisible fence and is chasing us down the road. She kept up with us for quite a distance. I couldn't believe it. Girl's in hysterics, worried the dog will get Goodyear poisoning from one of the passing cars, but we stop, let Scout in, and return her home--telling Todd to keep her in the house.

We get a call this morning. Todd and the film crew were up almost all night. Scout freaked out, barked for hours, and shredded our blinds on the 4 big patio windows leading out to the deck, in her effort to get to us again. The expensive blinds. Shredded. Destroyed. The actors, camera guy and director with big black bags under their eyes from dealing with the insane dog all night long.

Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln . . .

I am looking forward to the next few days of NO house, school, or business duties so that I can crit and write.

Which duties keep you from writing? How do you work around it?

Poor Scout! I hope he's feeling better soon. So sorry to hear about your other issues, too. :(

Hope the kids enjoy the hotel stay, and you get lots of fun stuff done before you have to go back to "real life" again.

Scout will be okay (I think/hope). It really surprised me--we hadn't counted on that particular problem.

The film gang's settled in and doing fine. I'm making them a pot of chili. Hope they aren't vegetarians. :)

Poor little guy. The thing with pets is they don't understand and you can't sit them down and explain things. Well you can but it won't help. :/

I hope the rest of the time is less eventful for everyone.

Sounds like your adventure started with another adventure. Sorry about the mess, and I hope things work out.

Enjoy the "vacation" and be sure to have room service at least once, so you can sit back, prop your feet up, and relax while you eat! :)

    Poor Scout is right!

I can commiserate a bit, Ellen. All the flooring in my house is ripped up and I've had a work crew here since Monday. Had to spend Monday in a hotel since I needed to sleep to go to work that night.

Charlie (my big 100 lb mutt) is going bananas, although he seems to be doing well with the crew(Plus the top guy-whose name is Hollywood :) - brings his little dog, Sherwood to keep Charlie company.

I'll be glad when I get my house back next week (with my new wooden floors, of course!)

LOL, Maria! Wouldn't it be funny if your big dog and his little dog "hit it off?" :)

Thanks everyone--Scout has settled down a bit. At least now we know she's loyal, right? No interchangable families for her.

Hotel better now that kids have their swimsuits. Keeps them from killing each other in the little space.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
